Atlanta voice actor Karen Commins is proud to announce the birth of her first audiobook, CITY OF ANGELS. The words of authors Tracie Peterson and James Scott Bell were brought to life earlier this year in Karen’s studio and released by the publisher NorthStar Audio Books in August. The unabridged audiobook weighs 8 cassettes and is 10 hours long.

During the production, Karen experienced the mood swings, cravings and desires of many characters. In fact, Karen gives a voice to 70 speaking parts in the book and says she often felt like she had split personalities.

Narrator and new book are doing fine. Karen loved the first one so much that she already is busy recording of the sequel, ANGELS FLIGHT, which should be available from the publisher later this year.

When asked how many audiobooks she wants to create, Karen smiled broadly and exclaimed, “I plan to have hundreds!”

Karen previously has voiced narrations, commercials, games and telephone systems for a variety of clients, including Electronic Arts, Pepsi Cola and Verizon Wireless. “All of my voice-over projects are my babies,” she says, “but I confess that I have a special love for audiobooks.”

CITY OF ANGELS is set in 1903 and centers around Kit Shannon, a 23-year-old woman with deeply religious convictions who is determined to become a lawyer contrary to the mandates of a strict social code that disapproves of women having careers. Kit’s beliefs are tested as she learns from and assists a celebrated attorney during a murder trial that contains as many plot twists as John Grisham novel.
